Woolly Racers set to Return

There’s the sound of live music, lively chatter in the bar and the thrill of watching your sheep compete! 

That’s right race fans, the Wakool Sheep Races are back!

Preparations are underway for the 2022 Wakool Sheep Races, which will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 4pm at the Recreation Reserve in Wakool.

This fantastic community event is hosted by the Wakool Community Progress Association Inc and is the major fundraiser for the Wakool community.

“We are super excited to be back this year, especially after missing the previous two years due to COVID-19 restrictions,” said committee member, Maree Whelan. 

“We have been extremely fortunate to have Echuca Luxury Houseboats come onboard to be our major sponsor this year and we would like to thank Andy very much for his support and generosity. The winner of this year’s races will have the choice between a $2,000 voucher for Echuca Luxury Houseboats or $2,000 cash.

“We have secured a band from Echuca, ‘Three’s A Crowd’, and are looking forward to them entertaining the crowd with their classic tunes.”

The afternoon’s action will be complete with fun for the kids by Tim Tim Entertainment, Fashions on the Field, canteen and barbecue and bar facilities.
