What are your sport and rec needs?

Murray River Council is encouraging local residents to participate in a community survey regarding the use of local sport and recreation facilities.

This forms part of an extensive asset assessment project which will deliver a detailed report on the condition of buildings, land and fleet and how they are utilised.

Mayor, Chris Bilkey said with 312 buildings and 320 land sites across the municipality, it is vital that council has a clear understanding of long-term service needs.

“Members of our project team have been travelling through the council over the past few months undertaking preliminary reviews of facilities and assets.

“Now we want to hear direct from the community about what they enjoy doing most in the region, and how often they use our sport and recreation facilities.”

Cr Bilkey added that the information captured will be vitally important to future service planning as it helps council plan for how assets are maintained now and into the future.

“I really do encourage people to take the time to complete the survey so that we can capture the usage levels of our facilities right across the council,” he said.

The survey can be accessed via council’s Your Say platform - yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au - and is open until 19 March 2021.
