It’s time to bust out your walking shoes again and get your sponsors ready!

The Local Health Medical Trust will host another virtual fundraising walk this November, with a focus on the local Murray Irrigation channel network.

You can sign up online – at https://barhamwalk.raisely.com/ - either as an individual walker or by joining friends, family or workmates in a team.

Every kilometre walked and every dollar raised will go towards the community goal of 20,000km and $20,000.

Local Health Medical Trust board member Robin May said participants could walk whenever and wherever they liked, and could also join in the group walks being planned.

“Murray Irrigation has come on board as the major sponsor, so there will be some community walks at MIL’s major irrigation assets,” Robin said.

“We’ll be able to walk together with the team from MIL and learn more about these amazing irrigation structures that sustain our livelihoods in this region.”

Robin said this year’s virtual walk followed the successful Barham2Broome walk in 2021, which raised more than $25,000 for the Local Health Medical Trust.

“The community support for our walk in 2021 was exceptional and we hope everyone gets on board again.”
