Monday evening, despite a total fire ban in effect, smoke was observed spreading over the land along the Kerang-Koondrook Road, Teal Point towards Kerang. Local CFA crews acted swiftly and headed to a canola paddock on the Barr Creek. The Kerang, Gannawarra and Koondrook crews worked together to contain the fire. This highlights the need for locals to reduce fuel loads in preparation for the upcoming warmer months.
