THE SHOW WILL GO ON
Cohuna Show 2019: Murray, Blake and Melissa Van Der Drift with Nia - Junior Champion Female, Champion Female and Supreme Exhibit from Black Diamond Speckle Park stud in Macorna.

Get the knitting needles clacking, grease the cake tins, and trim the roses; the Cohuna Show is approaching! For those who missed their ‘show’ fix last year when it was cancelled a week out from the Show, organisers can confirm the 107th Cohuna Show will be held on March 19 and 20.

Regular attractions and displays will be there, including the dog show, a feature cattle show, poultry, horses, animal nursery and the pavilion. Sideshows, rides, and stalls will also keep you entertained.

While a full show is planned, organisers are asking for patrons to be patient and understanding while modifications and enhancements are made to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. Cohuna A. P. & H. Society secretary, Allison Peace, said, “Patrons can expect to provide contact tracing details and, if they are feeling unwell, asked not to attend.

We are always on the lookout for additional helpers, particularly this year, with the extra COVIDsafe regulations we must implement.”

This year will be the last chance to wander through the Morton Garner Pavilion before it is demolished. The Society received an Australian Government grant in the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants program, and with additional funding from Gannawarra Shire Council, will be replacing the 56-year-old Morton Garner Pavilion. The new building will not only enable better exhibiting of entries, but also be a multi-use facility for the community. Planning is well underway on this project with the new pavilion scheduled for completion in time for the 2022 show.

With the Show just six weeks away, organisers encourage you to purchase your membership tickets, flick through the schedule and start preparing your entries. Schedules can be downloaded from www.cohunashow.com and memberships are available from the secretary by emailing cohunashow@gmail.com
