Strike, That Was Close

The wild weather continues this week as heavy rain and lightning battered local areas. Tuesday, rains ranged from nothing in Cohuna, 33mm in Koondrook, 37mm at Moulamein, 50mm at Murrabit, 58mm at Tullakool and 130mm on the Wakool River at Noorong. The heavy rains continued on Wednesday, with totals unavailable prior to publication. 

The tree above wore the brunt of a direct lightning strike on the Moulamein Road at Barham on Tuesday. Chunks of the tree were hurtled some 30 metres away, littering the road.
