Speaking With a 'Forked Tongue'
Closer observation of this brown snake saw its forked tongue flitting in and out of its mouth – especially so as I came closer to take some photographs. This begs the question, “Why does a snake flit its tongue in and out of its mouth?” A little research informed me that its flicking tongue allows the snake to ‘taste’ the air.
