The CSIRO Parkes radio telescope (known as “The Dish”) located near Parkes in central west NSW actively supported the very recent Artemis II mission. It serves as a vital part of the ground station network, tracking the spacecraft’s journey and providing data to NASA. Photo below taken on one of our many visits to this radio telescope while travelling up the Newell Highway - there is a nice café in the visitor’s centre next to the “Dish”. Well worth a stop on a long drive!
