The white bellied sea eagle is magnificent in flight with a wingspan up to about 2.2 metres (just a little smaller than the wedge-tailed eagle). I have observed them in our coastal areas and on large inland rivers like the Murrumbidgee where they fly in a graceful, effortless manner and while soaring they hold wings in a distinct shallow V-shape.
