Shine and Shine for Langy

Hundreds of people turned out to look over the impressive collection of over 100 cars and bikes that gathered for a Show and Shine to raise money for James Lang, 19. The community was thrilled that James and family were able to travel from Melbourne where James has been receiving rehabilitation after a motorcycle accident left him paralysed. 

Entrants had travelled from far and wide for the event organised by friends of James through a ‘Beers For Langy’ fundraising initiative. 

Nev and Kathy Hird donated their time providing live music for the event. The Red Rose Diner from Deniliquin had a coffee van on hand with 50 cents from each coffee going to Langy.

The Swan Hill Motorcycle Club, part of the Vintage car club, raised $300 passing the hat around, Beers for Langy stubby holder sales on the day were $400 and a combined total of $3,914 raised for the Lang Family.  

The visitors then flooded the town enjoying local eateries and watering holes.

Other prizes, donated by APM Employment Services valued at $300. APM Employment Services work with people with disabilities find employment.

Oldest Bike – R50 BMW 1955.

Best Chevy – Chev Belair Maroon 1955 2 door sports coupe.

Best Ford – Ford Fairlane Blue & White.

Best Holden – 2 door maroon Monaro.
