The six-day search of the Murray River near Barham NSW concluded on Friday, November 3, after a body was found on the Koondrook side of the river upstream of the Barham Lakes.

A multi-agency land and water search was initiated involving local police as well as Victoria Police, NSW SES, Marine Rescue NSW and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Tributes flowed for the deceased man, Martin Cincotta, who was well known through the grain and trucking industry and also for his caring nature and willingness to help anyone.

“Such a tragedy to lose such a beautiful soul. We can’t believe you’re gone Marty this community won’t be the same without your big personality and brilliant mind. Our love to the Cincotta family xxx RIP Marty,” wrote another.
I, too, will miss Marty, from the power of the pen at harvest receivals, deep conversations, his big heart, his intelligence, and ability so see through the political B.S.
