A Remembrance Day ceremony will be held in Memorial Park on Friday, November 11.
The service will involve RSL members and students from Leitchville Primary School, Cohuna Consolidated School, St Mary’s Primary School and Cohuna Secondary College. Gannawarra Shire Council Mayor, Cr Charlie Gillingham will be the guest speaker.
The public is invited to assemble from 10.45am for the service, which involves one minute silence at 11am, and are welcome to bring wreaths to lay during the service.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after the bloodshed of World War I. Over the past century, this moment has been adopted across the globe as a time to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflicts.
