GANNAWARRA

Deception: On the 16th of October, the victim contacted a seller on a social media site enquiring about a motorbike listed for sale. The victim paid a deposit and attended a Bendigo address the following day to collect. At the Bendigo address, no person knew about a motorbike or person by the seller’s name. The victim realised that they had fallen victim of a scam and reported the matter to police.

SWAN HILL

Trafficking: In the early hours of Monday, 13th of October, police intercepted a vehicle in Stradbroke Avenue, Swan Hill. Police located a quantity of what is alleged to be cannabis. The occupants of the vehicle, a 37 year old male and 35 year old female, were interviewed in relation to trafficking and possessing cannabis. They were both released pending summons to appear in court at a later date.

Possession: At about 11.30pm on Sunday, 19th of October, police intercepted a vehicle on Stradbroke Avenue, Swan Hill. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of, what is alleged to be cannabis, was located. The 38 year old male driver was arrested, charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.

Deception: On Monday, 13th of October, the victim was contacting by someone purporting to be from a financial institution. They appeared to have relevant information and were able to convince the victim that they were legitimate. After transferring almost $10,000, the victim became aware that they had been scammed and reported the matter through the report cyber online platform.
