Local police reports on criminal activity and emergency events.

Victoria Police
GANNAWARRA
Cohuna
On May 6, the victim contacted police stating that he has seen items that he owns being advertised on Facebook Market Place. The victim was under the impression that he had misplaced these items (that being a chainsaw and diesel heater) and did not report it to police. The alleged offender had previously worked for the victim and still had keys to a secure shed where items were located. Police are looking into provided names.
On May 13 around 9.30pm, a house fire was noticed by a neighbour at a Simpson Road address at Horfield, south of Cohuna. The owner was notified, who quickly returned to his property, together with CFA. It appears that offenders may have been at the premises stealing and ransacking the house and may have set fire to items outside the premises. Police would like to hear from anyone with further information.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
