  •     On Sunday, May 19 at approximately 4.30pm, a motorist attended a Cohuna service station in his vehicle. The motorist has proceeded to fill the vehicle with unleaded petrol. At this time, the motorist has realised this car takes diesel. He has entered the service station and asked staff if they had a spill kit, which they declined.
The motorist then returned to his vehicle where he removed the fuel tank plug resulting in the contents of his fuel tanks being emptied in the driveway running towards the gutter and nearby drain. Various persons and vehicles were in attendance and there was heavy local traffic in the area at the time. Once fully drained, the motorist proceeded to fill his vehicle with diesel and drove off without paying for the fuel.
The HAZMAT incident required attendance by CFA to clean up spill and prevent same from going down drain into town water. Police have spoken to the driver and the investigation is ongoing.
