Kerang
- Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a fatal house fire in Kerang on the morning of Saturday, February 24. Emergency services were called to the Lilac Avenue home following reports of the fire about 12.05am. Sadly, a body was found inside the property once the fire was extinguished. Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad and an arson chemist attended the property that morning. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
Cohuna
- On February 15, a female patient was released from Swan Hill Hospital. She was issued with a script for medication. Once home in Cohuna, this female has then altered and added medication to the script. On February 19, the female offender has attended at a pharmacy and presented script to be filled. Staff have picked up on alteration and have called police. Female offender was interviewed by police a short time later. Reason: “I was in pain, so I needed extra medication.” She will be appearing in Kerang Court at a later date.
