GANNAWARRA
- At 5pm on Friday, December 9, Kerang Police were alerted to a shed fire in Scoresby Street, Kerang. The fire spread quickly and engulfed the shed and all its contents, destroying four vintage vehicles with an estimated value of $300,000. The owner suffered minor burns whilst trying to extinguish the fire in its early stages. A CFA investigator inspected the scene and deemed the fire non-suspicious.
- On Thursday, December 8, Kerang Police received numerous calls from members of the public in relation to a suspicious vehicle driving around the township. Police intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 64-year-old male of no fixed address, who was unlicenced and his vehicle unregistered. He underwent an evidentiary breath test and returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.187 per cent. The male was charged and bailed to appear at a later date at the Kerang Magistrates Court. Members of the public who notified police are to be commended and thanked.
- A reminder to all that most of the schools have finished for the year or are winding down for the Christmas break. Please be aware that there will be more children out and about on foot and on bikes during the daylight hours.
