Police Report - August 20, 2026
GANNAWARRA
Burglary: Between August 12 and 14, there has been forced entry to a building at the corner of Bridge Road and Leitchville-Kerang Road McMillans. Invensys branded tools were reported stolen, along with batteries.
Attempted Burglary: It appears on the evening of Wednesday the 12th of August, unknown persons have cut a fence and attempted to gain entry to a recreation building off Spences Road Cohuna.
SWAN HILL
Arrest: At about 7.45am on Sunday the 16th of August, police stopped and spoke with a 51 year old male in McCallum Street Swan Hill. After a short conversation, the male was arrested and searched. A substance believed to be cannabis, and another believed to be GHB was located. The male was interviewed at the Swan Hill Police Station and charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.
Boat theft: On Thursday the 6th of August, the victim went into hospital. When they returned 6 days later, they found that his 12foot “V” bottom punt on a trailer, had been stolen from his front yard in Thurla Street Swan Hill.
House Fire: At about 6am on Monday the 17th of August, the occupants of a home in Monash Avenue Nyah West woke to a loud bang and discovered the roof on fire. All occupants were able to get out of the house without incident. CFA and police attended. The fire appears to have been caused by an electrical fault, deemed nonsuspicious.
