Dust off your barcode – parkrun is set to resume this Saturday. parkrun events around the world were cancelled in March last year when COVID-19 restrictions forced the closure of the events, and regular parkrunners and walkers have been keen to get back to the action.

parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world, taking place in parks and open spaces. It is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit, and no one finishes last (there is always a volunteer tail walker).

Cohuna parkrun operates every Saturday morning at 8am in Garden Park and organisers are looking forward to welcoming seasoned parkrunners after a 10-month hiatus, and those ready to tie their laces for the first time. Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run or volunteer. If you are new to parkrun, the steps are simple:

• Register for free at the parkrun Australia website www.parkrun.com.au

• Print a barcode – essential for your time to be recorded,

• Read the need-to-know information about cohuna parkrun on the website,

• Make sure your sneakers fit and wear comfortable running/walking gear,

• Meet at 7.45am on Saturday, in Garden Park, with your barcode.
