On this day – July 29, 1913 (111 years ago), the Kerang New Times (page 2) reported that: At the opening of the Cohuna Gun Club on July 23 in Gray’s paddock “The spot chosen was found to be faulty, owing to the dark background of trees along the Gunbower Creek the birds were often lost to sight. Nevertheless some fine shooting was done, notably in the starling match. The birds were strong and lively.”
