Cohuna on this day – August 9, 1907 (117 years ago), the Kerang New Times (page 4) reported on the ‘bad condition of what little footpaths we have, and the muddy and insanitary state of the town generally’. After heavy rainfall it is difficult and dangerous to walk between businesses. ‘The town is only lit at night by the scanty lights from the hotel and billiard room, except on Saturday when the stores remain open till 9pm.’
