Cohuna’s Keeley Closter has received the Retail Cosmetics Award at the VET in Schools Excellence Awards 2022. The award was presented at a ceremony held in Moama on February 28.
The award was one of several given to students in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) program through Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network based in Echuca. Keeley completed a Retail Cosmetics Certificate II through the program last year, travelling to Echuca every Wednesday with other students enrolled in a VET course, and attending school regularly for the rest of the week.
“The award opens up new opportunities for me to explore, in which I am both incredibly grateful and excited about,” said Keeley.
“Retail Cosmetics Certificate II has helped kickstart my career in beauty and helped me understand makeup more in depth.”
With her passion in the cosmetics industry, Keeley has left school to pursue her dream job and is now studying a Diploma of Beauty Therapy at Bendigo TAFE.
