Another good roll up with 14 ready to play cards. It’s a job well done by the crew who play cards and love coming to play. It’s unfortunate that the younger brigade are too busy or cannot be bothered to play cards. Not many towns play cards, but we will continue to provide a night out for them.
When the late Frank Bagg was around, we catered for 30 members, and going back in the 80’s they also had 30 players. We will continue, and donate money to local places around the town. We have over the years donated in excess of $18,000.
Big scores were recorded with Gwen Campbell winning the ladies with a high score of 3390. Not to be outdone, the quiet one in Doug Billman went a bit better with a great score of 3870, closely followed by Jim Bond on 3680.
Iris Howard won the lucky door prize, and the mystery number went to Lyn Nooman and John Walters. Lorna Johnson had her best night since starting to play cards, and that old tiger, in Peter Denton, got out the vacuum cleaner, looks like Dee has taught him well.
