When Desi Agelakis (Phillips) first opened the doors to My World Travel six years ago, she could not have predicted the challenges she was going to face come 2020.
Since its inception, My World Travel has sent dozens of locals on holidays of a lifetime, and for many it has been their first overseas trip.
However, the time has come, due to unforeseen circumstances, for Desi to restructure the business she has grown, and close her shop front in Mellool Street.
“The pandemic has hit tourism and travel agencies so hard which has forced me to have to close the doors,” Desi explains with heavy heart, “I’m absolutely shattered for my clients who I have built great friendships with. Rest assured though, I will be working from my home office once I get things organised and I will be able to reschedule and sort out refunds.”
It’s not the direction Desi had in mind for My World Travel and it has been a difficult decision for her to make. With a young son and husband at home, she endeavours to make the transition to working from home with as little disruption to her clients as well as family as possible.
“I value the loyalty of my clients over the years and I will reciprocate that loyalty to help them with their holiday plans for 2021. People can contact me on 0402 347 684.”
We wish Desi and her new venture all the very best moving forward into a much brighter new year.
