Moulamein Races Cancelled

Organisers of the Moulamein Races, earlier this week, announced that the iconic country race day event will not be staged in 2020.

The Moulamein Races, is known as a family friendly race meet that attracts crowds from across Southern Riverina and Northern Victoria.

“It is with heavy heart that we’ve had to make the difficult decision not to stage the Moulamein Races this year. As much as we were holding onto the hope that we could run the race meet, the current COVID-19 restrictions have meant we are not in a position to hold this year’s event. The health of our patrons, and those who live in our community, is of paramount importance to us – and it is impossible to know what the status with COVID-19 will be in December” said Nick McKindlay, President of the Moulamein Racing Club.

“We spent hours contemplating a range of options, and even considered holding an alternative event. However our venue doesn’t lend itself to the correct infrastructure layout to meet COVID-19 requirements regarding social distancing for events. With a range of implications presented, the consensus was that we cancel the 2020 race meeting and look forward to 2021 and planning an event that encompasses all the elements that make our race day fantastic” Nick McKindlay

We thank all our partners, sponsors and patrons for their support and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Moulamein Community in 2021.

The event will run again on Saturday 11 December 2021. The on-sale date of tickets to the 2021 Moulamein races will be announced in the coming months alongside trackside hospitality packages.
