Local Radiology in doubt

Radiology services in Cohuna could be in doubt if a service provider is not found to replace Bendigo Radiology, which is withdrawing its services from the town.

Bendigo Radiology has serviced the district with ultrasound and x-ray imaging at Cohuna District Hospital but due to workforce supply, will cease services at the end of April, leaving residents to travel out of town for vital scans.

Cohuna District Hospital CEO, Bernadette Loughnane, says the hospital owns most of the equipment and recently invested in digital upgrades.

“We are working with other radiology providers to attract them to Cohuna District Hospital,” Ms Loughnane said. “We are committed to resuming this service as soon as possible.”
