The Mardi Gras is definitely on this Easter Saturday. It will be held in the Riverside Park from 4pm till dark. We did not get to celebrate Christmas Eve this year so this is a chance to get together again for Easter. It is a great chance to catch up with friends and a chance for those who are coming back for the weekend to renew old friendships. Come along and help us celebrate autumn in Barham. Definitely the best time of the year.
This year we have the spinning wheel, fairy floss, snow cones, jumping castle and a barbecue run by the boys from the Support Langy group. As with tradition, we are offering local organisations a chance to run a stall or a raffle to be drawn on the night. If you want your organisation to be involved, please let John Boyd know in advanced so that we can organise tables for you if you need them. We are making room available for anyone who wants to set up a car boot sale as well. Remember that there will be lots of visitors around with money to spend so this is a chance to relieve them of some of that cash. Lions will be drawing their major raffle on the night as well.
There may not be an Easter bunny but there will be someone to give out Easter eggs during the afternoon, just to make sure the kids get started on their sugar high ready for Easter Sunday.
Local star, Kate Giorfi (Kathy Mitchell), will be performing on the day. We are very lucky to have such a talented person to entertain us with her top class singing and music.
We are inviting locals with a car or a motor bike to show off to come to a show and shine on the afternoon. There are a number of great motorbikes around the district and we would love to get a chance to see them up close.
If anyone has any ideas of other activities please let us know and if it is possible to organise we will look at including your ideas.
Come along and bring your family for a good afternoon out.
