Barham Library has been awarded a $1,500 grant from National Backyard Cricket, a fundraising committee of The LBW Trust.
Barham Library was one of 79 libraries to receive funding under The LBW Trust and Friends of Libraries Australia (FOLA) 2024 Program. The library received $1,500 to facilitate a job-skills workshop to assist current jobseekers with the preparation of their resume and cover letter.
“We are so grateful to receive this funding from The LBW Trust and Friends of Libraries Australia. It makes a huge difference for small, rural communities such as ours,” said Library Assistant Rhonda Bramich, who made the initial application.
Thanks to the funding, the Barham Library will be offering a workshop later this year to assist with creating resumes and cover letters for those who wish to update or create new resumes and cover letters, school-leavers or those getting back into the workforce.
The workshops are free and expressions of interest are now being taken. Interested community members can register by calling (03) 5480 1587 or by dropping into the library at 15 Murray Street, Barham during library hours.
The Murray River Council and the Barham Library are very grateful for the opportunity to assist our community members through the generosity of the National Backyard Cricket funding.
