Jenny’s Dedication Recognised

Life Membership was presented to one of Barham’s dedicated volunteer workers, Jenny Cain last week.

Jenny has spent over 20 years volunteering with the Barham St Vincent de Paul Society Conference, and has held the presidency for almost as long. Her work involves working locally and travelling to other towns in the Society’s region to carry out her role as Conference president.

Jenny was acknowledged for her years of volunteering and service with the presentation of a Life Membership badge and certificate at a luncheon on Wednesday, June 5 by fellow Vinnies volunteer and life member, Phil Mertz.

“She has been absolute in her devotion to helping the poor,” said Phil at the presentation. 

“Membership has dwindled somewhat due to various circumstances, but that has not held Jenny back.

“She has travelled to many towns in our region as Conference President, and is well received by other members and by the people she has assisted. Congratulations, Jenny.”
