There is something captivating about a thunderstorm, the lightning followed by rolling thunder which can make the windows of a home rattle. Rain pours down on the roof and sometimes there is a strong, buffeting wind. After a while the lightning ceases, the sounds of thunder roll into the distance, the rain eases and the wind drops. It is time to go outside and smell the fresh air and the beautiful odour coming from previously parched soil and now refreshingly damp.
