Highway to Reopen

The Murray Valley Highway, which has been closed between Lyons Road and Schwenckes Road, is scheduled to reopen by 5pm Friday, December 23. 

The closure has allowed Goulburn-Murray Water to replace a collapsed culvert underneath the road. “The replacement of the culvert will ensure the road is safe for travellers and that the Torrumbarry Drain 5 is able to operate as intended,” Goulburn-Murray Water said.

The highway was initially closed due to floodwaters, and remained closed to allow the works to be undertaken, with travellers being detoured along the Leitchville Kerang Road.
