Harvest Begins

Southern Riverina rice growers have kicked off harvest with several farmers commencing harvest this week. This year’s harvest is around two weeks later than the traditional start date. Early indications are that the record yields of last year won’t be matched, but growers hope a healthy yield of 12 tonnes per hectare will be achieved.
