Gannawarra Shire residents who opposed the recent Community Amenity Local Law changes to keeping poultry have driven change. The amended Community Amenity Local Law section Division 2 Section 21 still excludes chooks from flats, units or townhouses but enable up to six chooks (no roosters) on land up to 1 hectare (excluding farm land) and 20 on land greater than 1 hectare up to 2 hectares (other than farm land).
