Get tested for COVID-19

Residents who display symptoms associated with Coronavirus are encouraged to get tested.

More than 500,000 Victorians have been tested since a testing blitz began in late April, with the outcomes of results received assisting all levels of government with the easing of social distancing measures.

“Although social distancing measures are starting to be relaxed, it is important not to become complacent and remember to protect yourself and others,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“One of the greatest ways to ensure our community is not at risk of Coronavirus is to get tested if you have any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19.”

Symptoms of Coronavirus include:

• Fever
• Breathing difficulties
• Breathlessness
• Cough
• Sore throat
• Fatigue
• Tiredness

“If you have any of these symptoms, please contact Northern District Community Health on (03) 5451 0200 between 9am and 12 noon Monday to Friday to arrange to be tested at one of NDCH’s swabbing clinics, located at Cohuna or Kerang ” Mayor Learmonth said.

“Please remember that this virus is spread by droplets, so maintaining a physical distance of 1.5 metres between yourselves and others wherever possible reduces the risk, as does good handwashing and practicing cough and sneeze etiquette.

“Together, we can help to reduce the spread and help to protect ourselves and others.”
