From the Lions Den: October 19, 2023

Who is the Barham Koondrook Lions Club? A group of willing volunteers who work together to raise money for reasons of need or to help in times of need.

• Redevelopment of our towns through projects which progress our towns,
• Support groups, e.g. St Vincent’s, Pony Club, sporting clubs to name a few,
• Promote – Australia Day breakfast, Easter and Christmas mardi gras, and other events
• Support emergency services in times of crisis – barbecues, sandbagging etc.
• Health – men’s prostate cancer, childhood cancer, breast cancer etc.
• Education – Public Speaking Competition to promote chances of furthering career, Youth of the Year,
• Needs – people in need on a case-by-case basis (confidentiality held),
• Bingo every Wednesday night at the Riverside Reception Centre for people to meet, talk, have a good time – and win!
• Promote nursing scholarships,
• Assist other groups with events.

Anyone who wishes to become a ‘Lion’ volunteer, we have a meeting on the second week of the month at the Riverside Reception Centre at 8pm. Welcome all.
