Flood Waste Fees Waived

Gannawarra Shire and Campaspe Shire Councils are among 46 local government areas that will receive state government assistance for their clean-up and recovery.

The waste levy for flood waste will be waived and landfill operator gate fees covered until December 31.

The Victorian Government will collaborate with local councils and the waste industry to ensure that impacted communities have access to a facility or site to dispose of their waste quickly and safely.

It is projected that 300,000 tonnes of waste will be sent to landfill as a result of the October 2022 floods.

Other local government areas will be added to the list as necessary.
