Over the past few years, the churches in Barham have combined for an ecumenical service on the fifth Sunday of the month. It has been a wonderful opportunity to worship with fellow Christians, who worship at other church venues in town.
Our next combined church service is this coming Sunday, May 29, and will be held at the Roman Catholic Church. The service will begin at 10:30am, preceded by morning tea at 9:45am. After the service, we will move to the Barham Services Club for lunch.
This month, Father Stan from the Roman Catholic Church will deliver the sermon, while members of the other congregations will be involved in delivering the readings. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience and understand how other congregations worship. Often, the only time we visit another church is at a funeral!
I have talked about the churches coming together, but it is also a wonderful time for you to come and join a service, even if you are not a regular church goer. God loves all people and wants us to share His love with those around us. Whether you attend church or have never been inside a church building, it does not matter at all. So, please join us. Come and find out what church is all about. You would be most welcome.
