Barham Public School entered two teams in the 2020 NSW Premier’s Debating Challenge.

The two teams were Barham Blue and Barham Red, and competed against teams from Deniliquin North, Deniliquin South and Mathoura Public Schools.

The debates were held via video conference which proved to be a very successful way of holding these debates.

“Both teams are to be commended on their enthusiasm and ability to articulate their arguments and rebuttals,” said Sue Radywonik, Debating Co-ordinator.

“They are developing their public speaking skills and ability to work as a team. The skills acquired during debating are very useful in many areas of life.”

Barham Blue were declared Zone winners after winning all three of their debates. They will now participate in a knockout round against other zones, the winner of which will progress to the state debating challenge.

“We are very proud of our debaters and wish Barham Blue all the best in their upcoming debates”
