Police Report

  • In the early hours of December 25, offender/s have entered a Boundary Street, Kerang address and located keys to a white Toyota Hilux. Offenders have made their way to the vehicle and have stolen it. A quantity of power tools was in the rear of the Hilux. Note: attempt to keep vehicle keys in safe/out of the way location. 
  • On December 18, the victim’s car was parked in Lyall Ave, Kerang. At about 3am, an offender has approached the grey Ford and jumped on the roof causing extensive damage. Police have CCTV footage and will be talking to a male person in the coming days.
  • At about 10am New Year’s Day, front and rear registration plates were stolen from a vehicle parked in Hay Street, Cohuna. (BNJ725)
  • Between 9pm December 27 and 8am the following morning, a 12 x 6 foot tandem trailer was stolen from outside an address in Nugget Street, Kerang. The trailer was gunmetal grey in colour and had an aluminium tool box.
  • Over the Christmas-New Year period, two properties in Rosen Court, Koondrook have had unwanted visitors. One home under construction had bags of cement stolen and the other had damage done to the garage. The window of a business in Main Street was also damaged and a small grader board was stolen from the front yard of a property in Grigg Road.
  • In the evening of Wednesday, December 28, police attended an address in Quambatook after calls of an altercation between two people. A 67-year-old male was arrested for recklessly causing serious injury and other offences. He was remanded in custody. The second male did not require medical treatment.
  • Between December 26 and 27, offenders have forced entry to a licensed premises in Quambatook. A 56-year-old male was arrested and interviewed. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
  • At 6pm on Friday, December 30, members from Swan Hill Highway Patrol detected a vehicle travelling at an excessive speed north along Loddon Valley Hwy, Tragowel. The 60-year-old male from Hillside was detected driving at 147 km/h in a 100km/h zone. He stated he was talking and listening to music and there were no other cars on the road (other than the marked Highway Patrol vehicle). He was issued a 12-month licence loss penalty notice and a fine of $925.
  • Swan Hill Detectives are appealing for witnesses/information regarding a burglary occurring on January 4 at Molins Motorcycles and Marine, Koondrook. Investigators believe two male offenders have forced entry to the premises, causing damage to the door, and have stolen two yellow Suzuki JR80 motorcycles.   • Over the past month, a local ag business has received several emails with invoices attached for the purchase of stock feed. Thankfully, the business owner was savvy enough to contact the business and confirm bank details as an offender has accessed her incoming emails and changed bank account details on the invoices. These invoices were from different businesses and came to a total in excess of $90,000. If you receive an email or invoice with a change of bank details, please double check with the company, it could save you thousands of dollars.
  • Between 9am January 2 and 6pm January 4, a ‘Selecta’ spray pump has been stolen from a property on Simpson Road, Horfield.
  • Between 4pm January 5 and 12pm the following day, a blue llama has been shot and killed in a paddock off Bartel Road, Mystic Park.
  • Between 10am January 1 and 9am the following day, offenders have accessed a shed off Hughes Lane, Murrabit. A brand new Kinchrome tool set was stolen, along with a Makita angle grinder and a Honda Gentech generator.
  • At about 6.30am on Saturday, January 7, an offender has attended Forest Street, Koondrook and punctured a total of 13 tyres (vehicles and trailers).
  • At about 5.30am on Sunday, January 8, an offender has forced entry to the post office and hair dresser in Main Street, Koondrook.
  • Between December 30 and January 4, offenders have accessed an old church in Main Street, Koondrook and stolen antique items such as an old gramophone and vinyl records.
  • Between 12pm January 1 and 8am the following day, offenders have forced entry to a plumbing business in Grigg Road, Koondrook. A trailer containing a Kanga digger was stolen.
