Cohuna Lawn Tennis - March 11, 2021

This was our last home and away round for the season and with some great conditions we headed down the highway to Gunbower. In the seniors, things ran smoothly; whilst in the juniors, both managed close wins against the two Gunbower teams. 

Club Championships

Our annual Club Championships will be held on March 21 at the Cohuna courts at 3pm. This will be followed by presentations and barbecue tea.

Development Squad and Hotshots

The coaching programs will wind up on Saturday, March 13, with some small presentations to follow.

Twilight 

The post-Christmas competition will wind up on March 23. We have seen some great sets played out on Tuesday nights over the summer. A big thank you to Mary who has been organising and coordinating the twilight program this year.

Round 16 – Seniors (Cohuna Vs Gunbower)

Cohuna Seniors played away for the second week in a row. Up against Gunbower this week the men’s sets went one set to two in favour of Gunbower, with Cohuna only dropping two games. The ladies took all three sets with 18 games banked. Moving into the mixed, Cohuna held all three sets and banked a further 14 games. Up by 30 games; seven sets to two, Cohuna will take some momentum into next week after a big win.

Round 16 – Juniors Cohuna Gold vs Gunbower Blue 

Cohuna Gold played Gunbower Blue at Cohuna this week winding up the round claiming victory by seven games. The singles played out two sets to two in favour of Cohuna by just one game. Moving into the doubles matches; these also went two sets to two; however, Cohuna managed a further six games resulting in the seven-game win. Well done kids and all the best for the finals next week.

Round 16 – Juniors Cohuna Blue vs Gunbower Red

Cohuna Blue headed to Gunbower and had some really interesting matches. The singles matches went three sets to one in favour of Cohuna with a four-game lead. Similar to last week, the doubles wound up with scores even; resulting in just the four games claimed in the singles matches the difference. Well done to Zephan Hensley for winning all his sets. All the best for the semi-finals next week kids.
