Cohuna Lawn Tennis - March 4, 2021

Notes: February 27, 2021

In the Seniors the tennis faithful had their eyes on this much anticipated match; as we travelled to Murrabit. Juniors had some very close games with Cohuna Blue matching up against Murrabit and Cohuna Gold with home court advantage against Gunbower Red.

We are really at the pointy end of the season now with only one round to play out and then moving into the finals series. What a finals series it will be with what feels like the most even competition in several years; the 2021 season could easily go to anyone in the top four with the junior competition just as tight as well.

Development Squad and Hotshots

We have two more weeks of Hotshots and squad to go. It has been a lot of fun and we love seeing the kids on the courts learning new skills and practicing their shots.

Round 15 – Seniors (Cohuna Vs Murrabit)

Cohuna Seniors took the trip to Murrabit and played out a nail-biter in splendid conditions. In the men’s (with both teams resting their number one man) the games played out with Cohuna taking two sets to one set, however, were three games down. Whilst the ladies played out two sets to one set and the games up by one. So, with two games down heading into the mixed, Cohuna had some work to do. With the mixed only holding one set and the games scores even, Murrabit would be the victors on this occasion.

Round 15 – Juniors Cohuna Gold vs Gunbower Red 

Cohuna Gold played Gunbower Red at Cohuna this week winding up the round by taking the four points by just one game. The singles played out three sets to one in favour of Cohuna taking a 10-game lead. But as we know, anything can happen in the doubles and with Gunbower taking all four sets and nine games, it turned out to be a lot closer than what the players were thinking when they were heading into the doubles. Well battled, Gold!

Round 15 – Juniors Cohuna Blue vs Murrabit

Cohuna Blue headed to Murrabit and had some really interesting matches. The singles matches went two sets each way and three games up to Cohuna. The doubles wound out with scores even; resulting in just the three games claimed in the singles matches the difference.
