Cohuna Tennis Club – Notes January 16, 2021

It was the first week back from the Christmas and New Year break. Unfortunately, this week’s games were impacted by injury and holidays. The seniors were set to play Koondrook at Koondrook but resulted in a forfeit due to injury and a lack of subs to fill in. In the juniors: Blue had several players out and just managed to pull together a side playing Gunbower Blue at Gunbower, whilst Gold missed out on a game due to Kerang juniors forfeiting. 

Round 9 – Juniors Cohuna Blue vs Gunbower Blue

The Blue Juniors played Gunbower Blue at Gunbower on Thursday evening. The side welcomed in Charlie for his very first game, up from the Junior Development Squad and he even managed to win one of his sets 6-5. Well done, Charlie! Unfortunately, the side wasn’t strong enough to pull together the win but will be better for the hit-out.

In the singles matches the sets went 1-3 in favour of Gunbower, with Cohuna dropping 11 games. It was similar in the doubles with again the sets going 1-3 in favour of Gunbower and 12 games. With Gunbower taking the chocolates six sets to two by 23 games.
