Cohuna Tennis Club – Notes January 30, 2021

This week was the Cohuna v Gunbower derby, with all teams matched up against the Gunbower sides. The seniors and Junior Blue played out at the Cohuna courts whilst Cohuna Gold travelled to Gunny. The weather was splendid; however, the humidity was intense after the late week rains. This also made for some heavy courts on the day. 

Hotshots

Hotshots and Development Coaching will recommence on February 6 starting at 9am. Bring your racquets and drinkers for some fun tennis-based activities with our awesome coaches.

Twilight

The post-Christmas twilight competition is about to commence on Tuesday night. Give Mary Rodwell a call if you are interested in playing or have a team to enter.

Round 11 – Seniors (Cohuna Vs Gunbower)

Cohuna Seniors played at home to Gunbower this week, with results similar to last week with a close score line. The Gunbower men were dominant, taking all three sets and an 11-game advantage whilst the Cohuna women reversed the disadvantage with all three sets and 13 games to have Cohuna leading by two games heading into the mixed. In the mixed, Cohuna held two sets to one and a further two games, rounding out the match with a four-game victory to Cohuna. Well done to Mary Rodwell and Shirlene Barker for winning all their sets.

The Blue Juniors played the Gunbower Red team in a competitive hit out. All players won all their sets for the day, well done kids. Winning 48 games to 23 games.

The Gold Juniors took the road trip to Gunbower to take on the Gunbower Blue team. Cohuna took out seven sets for the day and a 19-game win. Well done to Lachy Farrell, Sarosh Sajeev and Ang Warren for winning all their sets for the day.
