Cohuna Tennis Club – Notes February 20, 2021

This week we had Cohuna and Koondrook match up against each other at Cohuna. With home court advantage, the Cohuna team snuck home with a set’s loss but a one game win. The juniors had mixed results with the Blue team too strong for Gunbower and the Gold team going down to Kerang juniors. Whatever the results, it was good to get back out onto the courts after the 5-day lockdown.

Round 14 – Seniors (Cohuna Vs Koondrook)
Cohuna Seniors played Koondrook at home this week. A very tight match with some very interesting results. Usually, the ladies manage to iron out the set losses from the men’s games; this week, however, the men were able to return the favour, taking all three sets 24 games to 9 games. The ladies dropping three sets; 10 games to 24 games leaving it all up to the mixed matches to decide the result for the day. With only one mixed set going Cohuna’s way, surely we were looking at a loss for the day! However, with a check of the score book, the games results in the mixed were even, meaning Cohuna got up by just one solitary game. Well done to Jason Hensley for winning all of his sets.

Round 14 – Juniors Cohuna Gold vs Kerang 
Cohuna Gold took the road trip to Kerang this week. The kids put in a great effort, however, Kerang was too strong. The singles matches went two sets each way, 17 games to 18 games. The doubles sets went all Kerang’s way, four games to 24 games.
