Preliminary work has begun on our renovation and extension, but the main works will still be some time off. It will be business as usual in the archives, trash and treasure and museum once they start, so you will still be able to buy your bargains, drop off any saleable items and do your research.

There has been plenty of action in the archives with our volunteers busy with research requests. We get people calling, emailing and dropping into the centre to find out all kinds of things, from family information, sporting questions, where people lived etc.

This week, though, we had a mystery we couldn’t quite solve. Two pictures were left at our door, along with some other items. Unfortunately, we didn’t know who the people in the pictures were, or who left them. The mystery has since been solved with the photos being identified. If you have any donations, please drop them in during opening hours.
