Another good roll up with 14 players turning up to play cards. At last, the scores have risen with both winners going over the 3,000 mark. Gwen Campbell won the ladies with a good score of 3,540 and the mens, it was Douglas Harold Billman scoring 3,630. Well done to both winners.
The lucky door went to Betty McLoughlan and the mystery number was won by 96-year-old in Iris Howard. The mens was won by Laurel Stacey. We had two pairs nearly getting the jackpot in Gwen Campbell and Brian McLoughlan going 9 hearts, then Sally Gray and the birthday boy in Doug Billman, also going 9 hearts (400); sorry, not good enough before we have to pay out.
What a great supper we had with the best cook in Leitchville making all the diet-free food for the special night of Doug Billman, who turned the big 80 years old. As Doug loves fishing but sometimes comes home without any fish, we are going to buy a book for him – how to catch a fish.
