Cohuna Cards - September 18, 2025

10 card players turned up to play that dying art of playing cards. Especially young ones who get more enjoyment playing with those mobiles, but we will still play cards on a Wednesday night. Its been over 70 years that this club  started playing cards and has made many donations to clubs, mainly hospitals, local Fire Brigades etc .

  Welcome back Daisy Shelley who has been overseas, just joking its Des the Tiger playing as a lady. One night it happened again and Sally Gray said  “I know all the Shelleys but I cannot recall a Daisy” well, we did not tell  Sally until we had supper.

Daisy Shelley won the cards with a score of 2840. Doug Billman continues his good form easily winning the mens by the odd 1000 scoring 3890. John Walters made a welcome return and taking home the lucky door and the mystery number and Lorna Johnson, also got the mystery number. Jim Bond had a bad night only scoring 1100. The best call of the night was 8 no Trumps{320}

We are open for business every week playing cards, even if our numbers are down a tad. Gwen Campbell continues to win with a Score of 2670,  and the men’s was won by Doug Billman with a Score of 2980, closely followed by Jim Bond at just 100 behind. The lucky door went to Lorna Johnson, whose son drives her over from Kerang just to play cards with us, and by the way, it’s one of our 90-year-olds who is still learning.

The mystery number was won by Lyn Noonan and Betty McLoughlan. The club shouted 13 members to a lunch of Chinese, at cluBarham, and the meal was excellent.
