Cohuna Cards - October 8, 2025
On a cold night, 10 players turned up to play cards. We all played each other a few times, but cards were the winners. Gwen Campbell picked up 800 in the last 4 deals to come out winners with a great score of 3750, and Betty McLoughlan with a Score...
Hi again, from the Card Sharps.
It was a bit quieter this week; only the jackpot went off again. The 2 new card players have improved, but they still need help from us older card sharps. Gwen Campbell, after a bad week losing her purse etc. got back on the winners list with a good score of 2810. Doug Billman won the men’s, hitting the magic 4000 scoring 4230. Our Lucky Door also went to Gwen Campbell and the Mystery Number was awarded to Gracie Craddock and Barry Stacey. Gracie seems to have a couple of good cards just to get her out of trouble, likewise Cheryl Watts; the joker follows her.
Grumps is at it again, why? What are we playing for? It must be big stakes. Is it a sheep farm or a dairy farm or a cheese factory? No, it’s just $3.00. A lovely lady from Kerang who loves her cards has made the next step by putting in a bid only to be swamped by her partner going the extra one. Surely, we can let Lorna just pick up the kitty. At the end of the night Lorna said, “I am not making it before.” Come on card players, we are there to have fun not win at all costs.
