Twelve players turned up, which is down a bit, but some players went to Melbourne for a concert. Nothing gets in the way of playing cards. We started playing cards with only 10 players, as two from Kerang had not turned up, but a knock on the door and two Kerang players came in hot and bothered as their car broke down and they had to go home and get another car so they could come over to play cards. Well done.
One of the two from Kerang took out the ladies’ with a big score of 3,730 in Annette Campbell. Jim Bond came back from last week with a low score to win the men’s with a score of 3,260, closely followed by Doug Billman 80 behind.
The lucky door went to the other Kerang card sharp in Lorna Johnson. Last week, Joyce Hull was the top player, but this week won the mystery number, which was 1,980. Also, Laurel Stacey won the men’s. The best call was 8 hearts (300) and the jackpot is starting to sneak up to $6.
