Cohuna Cards - May 14, 2026

11 players turned up to play cards. It’s sad as we did not start playing till 7 pm every week as Michael would come in the last-minute saying “I was watching TV and I forgot the time!” 

It was the ladies turn to sit twice in the 3 hander, so scores were down. Mavis Prout had a score of 2720 to get over the line by about 200. 

The mens was won by Jim Bond with a score of 2910, winning by about 250. 

The Lucky Door went to Barry Stacey, and the Mystery Number was awarded to Lyn Noonan and Doug Billman. Lyn had a great call going 8 hearts (300) and easily got them. The best call was Tiger Des with a call of 8 no trumps (320) in the 3 hander (should have went 10 no trumps).

As winter is around the corner we thought we had put that big snake to sleep, but the last deal of the night Doug Billman woke it up, going for the 8 of hearts (300) but not getting the 8 hearts. Please bring a jumper to cards. Yes, we have a heater but dress warmer.
